Barack Obama Names Tems, Rema on his 2024 Summer Playlist

Former President of the United States of America Barack Obama has named Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi aka Tems and Divine Okubor aka Rema on his 2024 Summer Playlist.

Obama in his yearly tradition shared his summer playlist of 40 songs for the year 2024, on his official X handle (formerly Twitter) on Monday which includes songs released by Tems and Rema.

Tem’s hit single ‘Love Me Jeje’ (which samples Seyi Sodimu and Shaffy Bello’s classic with the same title), one of the lead songs off her debut album ‘Born In The Wild’ made Obama’s list.

Rema’s exciting song ‘Yayo’ which is off his recently released sophomore album titled ‘HEIS’ (derived from the Greek word “εἷς”, meaning “number one”) also earned a place on Obama’s 2024 summer playlist.

In his caption on X, Obama wrote: “With summer winding down, I wanted to share some songs that I’ve been listening to lately – and it wouldn’t be my playlist if it didn’t include an eclectic mix. I hope you find something new to listen to!”
