The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has released the schedule for the 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream II Orientation Course, which is set to commence on August 28, 2024. The announcement was made in a circular dated August 7, 2023, and signed by the Director, PRS, Ahmed Ikaka, on behalf of the Director-General of the corps.
According to the circular, the orientation exercise will take place across all 36 states of the federation, including the Federal Capital Territory. Registration for the orientation course is scheduled to run from August 28 to August 30, with a deadline of midnight on August 30, 2024.
The swearing-in ceremony, which marks the official start of the service year for the new corps members, is slated for August 30, 2024. The orientation course will then proceed with various activities aimed at preparing the corps members for their service year, culminating in a closing ceremony on September 17, 2024.
The NYSC has urged all prospective corps members to ensure they register on time and participate fully in the orientation course to prepare themselves for their service year.
In the circular, Ikaka stated, “The orientation course is a critical component of the NYSC program, and it is essential that all corps members participate fully to ensure a successful service year.”
He added, “We have put in place all necessary arrangements to ensure a smooth and successful orientation course, and we look forward to welcoming the 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream II corps members.”
