Lagos discharges five COVID-19 patients, total now 55

Lagos State Government has announced the discharge of another set of five COVID-19 patients after making full recovery and testing negative for the virus, the government said on Sunday.

The discharge of the five patients, four females and one male, as announced by the state Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on his Twitter handle, @jidesanwoolu, brings the total of discharged COVID-19 patients in the state to 55.

The governor tweeted: “Dear Lagosians, as we commemorate the sacrifice of love this Easter, I bring to you more awesome news from our isolation facilities. Today, five more patients; four females, and one male have been discharged to reunite with their families and the society.

“With the newly discharged patients, we now have a total of 55 people that have been successfully managed for COVID19 at our isolation facilities and discharged to the community. This news, especially on this important day gives me joy and I am sure it does the same to you too”.

Lagos is the epicenter of the COVID-19 disease pandemic in Nigeria, accounting for almost half of the 323 confirmed cases so far recorded in the country.
