Fire Engulfs FIIRO Office in Lagos, Property Worth Millions Destroyed

A devastating fire broke out at the Federal Institute of Industrial Research (FIIRO) office in Oshodi, Lagos, near Cappa Bus Stop, causing significant destruction to property.
The blaze reportedly started around midnight on Christmas Day and raged into the early hours of Boxing Day. Men of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, in collaboration with the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority (LASEMA), have been working tirelessly to contain the fire.
As of 4 a.m., rescue operations were still ongoing, with firefighters striving to prevent the flames from spreading to adjoining offices and nearby structures.
Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson confirmed that no casualties had been reported at the time of filing this report. However, the fire has caused extensive damage, with property worth millions of naira destroyed.
“The response teams are doing everything possible to contain the situation and ensure the safety of lives and property,” a source at the scene stated.
The cause of the fire remains unknown, and investigations are expected to commence once the situation is fully under control.
