PANIC IN OSUN: Adeleke Camp Rocked by ‘Secret Resignations’, Alleged Loyalty Oaths Ahead of Gubernatorial Election

Fresh turmoil is reportedly brewing within the political camp of Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, as multiple aides are alleged to be quietly stepping down from their positions while publicly maintaining loyalty to the government.

Sources within the administration, who spoke on condition of anonymity, claimed that several appointees have allegedly resigned their roles without making any official disclosure, in what insiders describe as a strategic move ahead of the August 15 governorship election and the 2027 general elections.

According to one insider, “Some of them have already resigned, but they won’t announce it. They are afraid it could affect their chances at the primaries if it becomes public.”

The development is said to be connected to internal political maneuvering, particularly fears among aspirants that open resignation could weaken their standing within the party structure.

This comes amid lingering political tension following reported defections from the Accord Party in Osun State—an episode that allegedly threw early obstacles into Governor Adeleke’s anticipated re-election plans.

Even more controversial are claims of alleged oath-taking rituals within the camp. Multiple sources alleged that some aides are being compelled to swear allegiance to remain in the party regardless of the outcome of party primaries.

“Oath-taking is nothing new here,” another anonymous source alleged. “They are made to swear that even if the consensus arrangement doesn’t favour them or they lose at the primaries, they must not leave the party.”

Observers say the alleged practice, if proven, points to a tightening grip on internal party loyalty, with some likening it to a “cult-like” structure designed to prevent defections at all costs.

“This is about control,” a political analyst familiar with Osun politics reportedly said. “The leadership wants to avoid a repeat of past defections that weakened their position.”
