Lagos Banker, Rufus Bello Celebrates Wife, Yemi at 50

It was a dazzling evening of glamour, elegance and heartfelt celebrations as prominent Lagos banker, Rufus Bello, pulled out all the stops to honour his wife, Mrs. Omoyemi Bello, the Managing Director of Chillers Hotel and Lounge, on the occasion of her 50th birthday.
The colourful celebration, held on July 18, 2026, at the prestigious Yes Israel Event Centre, Kosoko Road, Ojodu Berger, Lagos, brought together an impressive array of family members, close friends, colleagues, captains of industry and business associates, all united in celebrating a woman many described as an exceptional wife, mother, entrepreneur and leader.
From the moment guests arrived, it was evident that no expense had been spared. The beautifully decorated venue radiated class and sophistication, while a red-carpet reception ushered guests into an atmosphere of warmth, laughter and celebration.
The event featured an endless spread of exotic local and continental delicacies, premium drinks and impeccable hospitality that kept guests talking long after the night’s festivities ended. The entertainment was equally spectacular, with live music and energetic performances keeping the dance floor alive before the celebration seamlessly transitioned into a vibrant after-party at the same venue.
Many attendees later described the birthday celebration as one of the finest social gatherings witnessed in recent times, applauding the flawless organisation, rich menu, premium refreshments and the perfect blend of music that appealed to every generation of guests.
The emotional high point of the evening came when the celebrant’s husband, Rufus Bello, paid glowing tribute to his wife, drawing loud applause from the audience.
Speaking about the woman he has shared his life with, he said, “Yemi is worth much more than all this. I am thankful to God that He has spared her life to witness this beautiful day. My prayer is that God will continue to keep her in good health and grant her peace of mind for many more fruitful years.”
His heartfelt words reflected the deep affection and admiration the couple have shared over the years, leaving many guests visibly moved.
Rufus Bello, popularly referred to as “Don Douglas” in his social circle, during words of encouragement to couples, stated that marriage is a game of compromise and understanding as no two people are alike. He jovially concluded that while being viewed as non romantic, the celebration has afforded him the opportunity to monetize what seemingly look like “unromantic tough man”.
The Bello children also paid glowing tributes to their mother, describing her as a pillar of strength, compassion and wisdom whose sacrifices and unwavering support have shaped their lives. They thanked both parents for building a home founded on love, discipline and godly values.
Friends of the family were equally generous with their praise, celebrating the couple’s remarkable journey together. They spoke warmly of Rufus and Yemi Bello as a perfect example of enduring friendship, hard work, commitment and mutual respect, noting that their successful marriage continues to inspire younger couples.
Several business associates also commended Mrs. Bello for her entrepreneurial accomplishments, particularly her leadership at Chillers Hotel and Lounge, describing her as a visionary whose commitment to excellence has earned respect within the hospitality industry.
As the night progressed, guests filled the dance floor in celebration, while heartfelt toasts, laughter and endless photo sessions created unforgettable memories. The joyous atmosphere continued well into the after-party, where music, entertainment and camaraderie ensured the celebration ended on an even higher note.
For everyone privileged to attend, the golden jubilee was far more than a birthday party. It was a celebration of love, family, friendship, faith and a life marked by purpose and achievement.
Indeed, Omoyemi Bello’s 50th birthday will be remembered not only for its elegance and splendour but also for the genuine affection that surrounded a woman whose impact on her family, friends and business community continues to shine brightly.
