KOGI 2023: Dayo Akanmode declares, says Kogi can be better

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prince Dayo Akanmode has declared his intention to contest for office of the Governor of Kogi State in the 2023 election.
Akanmode made his governorship declaration while addressing “The Nucleus”, a movement meant to create political awareness among Kogites.
The former council vice chairman said he is “encouraged and emboldened by tremendous goodwill and encouragement, even from unexpected quarters.”
He explained that membership of The Nucleus was decided upon after painstaking effort to raise a credible and formidable political platform that will place patriotic citizens in the mainstream of Kogi state politics and by extension Nigeria.
“The Nucleus will lay a solid foundation for a bigger political platform that will be all encompassing and collegiate in nature.
“While our vision is not to rubbish the government in power or cast aspersion on any individual, I must quickly emphasize that our state can be better if we can identify diverse talents to move our beloved Kogi forward,” he said.
Akanmode stated that The Nucleus is a movement that is committed to the collective emancipation of the people of Kogi state.
“The vision is not about me but about our collective emancipation and dignity. We need a platform that can provide a rallying point for our aspirations and dreams. The second part is making myself available to run for the highest office in the state whereby we can together run a government that belong to the people and bridge the disconnect between government and the governed.
“We all agree that where we are now is not our destination, therefore, we cannot be complacent. We shall not be push overs in the unfolding scenario because the state belong to us all.
“The greatest asset I have is the intention to do good and be fair. A man that has no compassion has no business with governance,” he added.
Akanmode promised to provide leadership based on good governance, equity and fairness.
