In a momentous occasion held on Thursday, 22nd May 2025, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), South West Nigeria, conferred its first-ever “Knight of Faith” title upon distinguished business leader and philanthropist, Aare Adetola Emmanuelking. This unprecedented recognition was awarded for his unwavering commitment to the Christian faith, exceptional leadership, and outstanding contributions to nation-building and community development.

Themed “Celebrating Distinction and Faithful Stewardship,” the landmark event took place at the Garden of Faith, Abeokuta. The ceremony also saw the induction of other notable Nigerians as Distinguished Patrons of the association, including the Inspector General of Police, Dr. Kayode Egbetokun; Deputy Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs, Barr. Olaniyi Alajogun; and iconic gospel music legend, Sir Evangelist Prof. Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi (MFR).

CAN South West Chairman, Bishop Tunde Akin-Akinsanya, presided over the event, which was graced by His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, Executive Governor of Ogun State and the Grand Patron of CAN South West. Representing the Governor was the Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Tokunbo Talabi.

The ceremony attracted prominent dignitaries, among them the Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Ola Oresanya; Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Olanrewaju Ogunlowo; Royal Fathers; the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, His Grace Most Rev’d (Dr.) Daniel Chukwudumebi Okoh; several CAN State Chairmen, and other respected leaders from across the country.

The spiritually enriching event featured stirring gospel music performances, intercessory prayers, official sashing of all honorees, and a unique empowerment program. In a testament to his generosity, Aare Adetola Emmanuelking donated a plot of land in one of Adron Homes’ prestigious estates to the winner of the empowerment program—highlighting his enduring passion for economic empowerment and community upliftment.

During his heartfelt acceptance speech, Aare Emmanuelking dedicated the award to God and the body of Christ, describing it as a divine mandate for greater service.

“This is a divine call, not just to me but to every Christian in leadership,” he said. “I charge every believer to uphold the values of our faith, integrity, love, excellence, and service. In these trying times, the world needs more light-bearers. Let us not shrink our influence, but shine boldly for Christ.”

He further called on fellow Christians to stand firm in their faith and actively pursue the cause of the Kingdom across all spheres of society.

The ceremonial unveiling of the “Knight of Faith” sash symbolized a new era of faith-based leadership recognition. The event underscored CAN South West’s mission to honor lives that reflect Christ-like virtues and make meaningful contributions to Nigeria’s development—affirming that the work of godly leadership continues to light the way for others.
