Reps Pay Tribute to Late Owa Aromolaran as Omirin Eulogizes the Monarch

The House of Representatives today observed a minute of silence in honor of the late Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesa land, Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran.
This tribute was initiated by Hon. Olusanya Omirin, the representative for Ijesa South Federal Constituency, the late monarch’s home area.
In his motion, Omirin praised Oba Aromolaran’s 42-year reign, highlighting the significant growth it brought to Ijesa land and its people. “I am delighted that my colleagues celebrated Baba Owa in an unprecedented manner,” he remarked. Omirin also noted that many lawmakers fondly recalled their interactions with Oba Aromolaran’s writings, which they found influential in their understanding of economics.
The Speaker, Dr. Tajudeen Abass, supported Omirin’s request for the minute of silence, and the House unanimously agreed. Earlier, Speaker Abbas had expressed his condolences in a letter to the late monarch’s family.
Following the tribute, Omirin expressed gratitude to his colleagues and the Speaker for honoring Oba Aromolaran’s legacy. “Indeed, I am a proud Ijesa man. Baba remains great even in death,” he concluded.
