Jennifer Lopez Files for Divorce from Hubby Ben Affleck 2 Years after Marriage

American singer and actress Jennifer Lopez has reportedly filed for a divorce from her husband Ben Affleck barely two years after the pair got married at a chapel in Las Vegas.

Lopez filed for divorce in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Tuesday, August 20, as per court records. The pair did not have a prenuptial agreement, according to a source close to Lopez.

In her filing, Lopez stated April 26, 2024, as the date of separation in Los Angeles County Superior Court. Being self-represented, she filed for divorce on her own without the assistance of a lawyer.

The singer did not clarify if there was a prenuptial agreement, although TMZ was informed by sources that there is none.

“She tried hard to make things work, and is heartbroken,” a source tells PEOPLE of Lopez. “The kids are a top priority, as they always have been.”

Recall that Lopez and Affleck were engaged in the early 2000s, split up before being married, and then spent a long 17 years apart before getting married in July 2022. The couple had rekindled their romance the year before.
