Zamfara APC youth leader dumps party for PDP

The Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State, Hon. Rabiu Abubakar Emir has dumped the party for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Described as one of the right hand men of Senator Kabiru Marafa and one of the leading lighs of his faction of the APC in the state, Hon. Emir’s defection further compounded the woes of the former ruling party in the state, as scores of its chieftains have been moving to the PDP in recent times.

Hon. Emir, who was received by the state Governor, Bello Matawalle and other PDP stalwarts at the Government House, Gusau, said he decided to join PDP out of admiration for Matawalle and his love and support for the way he is tackling insecurity in the state.

It would be recalled that one of the major allies of ex-Governor Abdul’aziz Abubakar Yari and one of Ahmed Rufai Sani Yerima’s foot soldiers in the state, Ahmed Balarabe Anka had recently dumped the APC for PDP with over 2,000 of his followers.

Anka, who is currently the Sole Administrator of Anka Local Government, expressed his unalloyed support for Governor Matawalle during his defection rally that attracted a massive crowd at the Anka Local Government headquarters.
