PDP Faction Seeks Court Order to Proceed with NEC Meeting
A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), led by Bauchi Governor Bala Mohammed, has filed a lawsuit seeking a court order to prevent the party and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from canceling the upcoming National Executive Council (NEC) meeting scheduled for Thursday.
The legal action was initiated by Imam Auwal at the Zamfara High Court in the Gusau Judicial Division. The suit calls for the overturning of a prior injunction from the Abuja Federal High Court that barred the PDP from dismissing its acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum.
As of now, the response from the opposing faction aligned with Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike remains unclear regarding this latest development. Further updates are expected soon.
