The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State, Hon. Adebayo Olugbenga Adedamola, has called on the people of the state to embrace the spirit of love and unity, while assuring them that the era of “maladministration and hardship” in the state is drawing to a close.

In a powerful Christmas message personally signed by him on Thursday, December 25, Adedamola reached out to traditional rulers, civil servants, the youth, and residents across the 30 Local Government Areas, describing the season as a “blueprint for sacrifice and selfless service.”

The PDP flagbearer emphasized that for Osun to achieve its full potential, residents must look past political and religious differences. He noted that the “State of the Living Spring” stands at a crossroads where only collective harmony can lead to progress.

“I call on all residents to let the love of Christ permeate our hearts. Let us transcend the artificial barriers of politics and creed,” Adedamola stated. “A united Osun is a prosperous Osun. It is only in an atmosphere of tranquility that true development can thrive.”

While acknowledging the festive atmosphere, the governorship candidate did not shy away from the economic realities facing the state. He expressed deep empathy for retirees, artisans, and civil servants, who he claimed have been the primary victims of poor governance.

“I walk through our streets and I see the struggles of our people. I hear the cries of the civil servants and the yearnings of our retirees,” he said. “It is no secret that our beloved state has been steered off course by a period of profound maladministration that has resulted in unprecedented hardship.”

He further assured residents that his candidacy represents more than a quest for power, but a partnership aimed at “restoring the soul of Osun State.”

Adedamola revealed that the PDP leadership has already developed a comprehensive strategy to address the state’s challenges immediately upon taking office. He outlined a vision focused on transparency, worker dignity, and economic buoyancy.

Specifically, he committed to:

  • Restoring Worker Dignity: Prioritizing the welfare and respect of the Osun workforce.
  • Infrastructure Revitalization: Executing projects with a focus on quality and fiscal transparency.
  • Business Growth: Creating a friendly environment for local businesses to flourish without “unnecessary burdens.”

Concluding his message, Adedamola urged the people to remain hopeful, framing the current difficulties as a “temporary shadow.” He promised that the PDP is ready to “right the many wrongs” witnessed in the state in recent years.

“As you celebrate today, do so with the confidence that the night is far spent and the day is at hand,” he declared. “We are in this journey together, and together, we shall reclaim the glory of the State of the Living Spring.”

The statement, issued from the candidate’s media office in Osogbo, serves as a rallying cry for the party’s supporters as the state prepares for its next political chapter.
