One Heart One Love set to mark 10th-year anniversary, launches charity foundation

A group operating on the social media platform, WhatsApp, One Heart One Love (OHOL) is set to roll out the drums in the ancient city of Abeokuta as it marks its 10 years of existence.

The anniversary celebration, slated for the 6th to 8th of November, 2020, will also witness the official launching of the One Heart One Love Foundation, a Coporate Affairs Commission (CAC) registered charity.

Speaking on the significance and activities earmarked for the anniversary, the Chairperson of Anniversary Committee, Mrs Omome Abore Faith Vera, said the 10th- year anniversary of the group is strategic and unique because it’s a landmark achievement for a social media based group that started 10 years ago to still be in existence and waxing strong.

She said: “For us at OHOL, this year’s anniversary is unique and we are leaving no stone unturned in marking it in a most glamorous way. And from all indications and the enthusiasm of members of the group, who have signified their intentions and registered for the anniversary, above 90 in all, we are sure to have a swell time.”

Speaking further, Mrs Abore said unlike other social media groups, the 10th anniversary celebration will not all be about fun as arrangements have been made for different lectures to be handled by highly cerebral resource persons, skill acquisition training and a mini trade fair where members can display and market their businesses.

“The OHOL 10th anniversary celebrations is not just about gathering members to have fun but also an avenue for self development and networking. We are providing the platform for members to network and advance their businesses and sharpen their skills. These are very germaine to the vision of the group”, she said.

On his part, the founder and CEO of the group, Olukayode Bamigbade Adeyemi, popularly known as OluKing, noted that one of the major highlights of the anniversary is the official launching of the OHOL Foundation, a registered charity with the CAC.

According to him, the foundation has been in existence for several years and has been reaching out to the less privileged in the society and was actively involved in offering food palliatives to Nigerians during the COVID-19 lockdown but has not been officially launched.

“The launching of the foundation will afford us the opportunity to officially announce it to the world and step up on our charity endeavours. We have done so much over the years through the foundation and we believe it is time to take it a notch higher.

“We are looking forward to a great outing as we gather, wine and dine and also self-develop, network and increase our work in the area of social responsibility to the society.

“OHOL has been a success story over the years, attracting over 150 members from different parts of Nigeria and across the globe. These are quality people engaged in different areas of human endeavours. We have become a great family, close knitted friends and we look forward to becoming active partners in business and the course of helping humanity in our little ways”, OluKing said.
