Lawal Hails Yari’s Appointment as Tinubu/Shettima Campaign DG, Says Zamfara Is Proud

Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has welcomed the appointment of former governor and Senator representing Zamfara West, Abdul’aziz Yari Abubakar, as Director General of the Tinubu/Shettima 2027 Presidential Campaign Council.

Lawal described the appointment as a significant development for Zamfara and a strategic decision that would contribute to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bid for a second term in 2027.

The governor expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for choosing a prominent son of Zamfara to coordinate the presidential campaign, saying Yari’s selection would boost the morale of members of the All Progressives Congress in the state and strengthen their commitment to the party.

According to Lawal, Yari’s experience as a former governor and senator, coupled with his organisational and leadership abilities, would be valuable in mobilising support for the President and communicating the administration’s agenda to Nigerians.

He said the appointment had positioned the campaign team to effectively engage voters and build wider support for Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Lawal also congratulated former Zamfara governors Ahmed Sani Yarima, Mahmuda Aliyu Shinkafi and Bello Matawalle on their appointments to key positions within the Presidential Campaign Council.

The governor said the inclusion of the former governors would bring additional experience and political strength to the campaign, while their respective backgrounds in governance would complement the council’s efforts.

He expressed confidence that the combined experience of Yari and the other Zamfara leaders appointed to the council would help strengthen the APC’s campaign machinery as party stakeholders work towards securing Tinubu’s re-election.

Lawal further described Yari’s appointment as a source of pride for Zamfara, saying it would encourage party members across the state to remain committed to the APC and its objectives ahead of the 2027 polls.
