Lagos APC Unveils 2027 Campaign Structure, Sanwo-Olu, Fashola, Ambode Take Key Roles

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has unveiled its campaign council for the 2027 general elections, with serving Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and former governors Babatunde Fashola and Akinwunmi Ambode assigned prominent positions.

The campaign structure was made public on Thursday through the Kadri Obafemi Hamzat Media Centre as the party begins preparations for the 2027 elections.

Under the advisory arrangement, Prince Tajudeen Olusi is designated as Chairman of the Governance Advisory Council, while Sanwo-Olu is listed as Advisory Council Chairman.

Fashola and Ambode are to serve as Co-Chairmen of the advisory structure.

The advisory body also includes President Bola Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila; Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa; and former Minister of Health, Adeleke Mamora.

At the main campaign council level, Sanwo-Olu is listed as Chairman, with Deputy Governor Kadri Obafemi Hamzat serving as Deputy Chairman.

The council further names Ojelabi Cornelius as Vice Chairman I, Mudashiru Obasa as Vice Chairman II and Damilola Sonayon James as Vice Chairman III.

Former Senator Musiliu Obanikoro has been designated Director-General of the campaign council, while Rasaq Ajala will serve as Deputy Director-General. Adekunle Olayinka is listed as Campaign Secretary.

The campaign structure is divided into several directorates and sub-committees, with responsibilities spanning legal and compliance matters, party and inter-party affairs, administration and logistics, traditional institutions, diaspora engagement and residents’ associations.

Among the directorates listed in the released structure are the Legal and Compliance Directorate, Party and Inter-Party Affairs Directorate, Secretariat Administration and Logistics Directorate, as well as Finance and Fundraising and ICT directorates.

The structure also provides for grassroots coordination across local government areas and local council development areas in Lagos State.

The formal inauguration of the campaign council is scheduled for Friday, September 18, 2026, at the APC Secretariat on ACME Road, Ikeja, Lagos.

The unveiling marks the formal establishment of the party’s campaign machinery in Lagos ahead of the 2027 general elections.
