Hon. Sanya Omirin Urges Nigerians to Embrace Unity, National Healing in Christmas Message
As Christians across the globe celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, the lawmaker representing Atakunmosa East/West and Ilesa East/West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Sanya Omirin, has called on Nigerians to prioritize national peace, love, and reconciliation.
In a Christmas message personally signed by him on Wednesday, the lawmaker emphasized that the season offers a unique opportunity for citizens to reflect on the virtues of humility and compassion, which are essential for building a stronger nation.
Hon. Omirin noted that while the season is often associated with festivities, its true essence lies in the manifestation of selfless love. He urged his constituents and Nigerians at large to look beyond the celebrations and internalize the spiritual significance of the birth of Christ.
“Christmas is more than a season of festivities; it is a profound reminder of God’s enduring love for humanity,” Omirin stated. “It is a time when we celebrate the virtues of humility, compassion, and selflessness. As we gather with our families and loved ones, I urge us all to internalize the core message of this season: Love.”
Addressing the diverse nature of the country, the lawmaker appealed to Nigerians to see their different religious and ethnic backgrounds as a source of strength rather than a cause for division. He stressed that collective harmony is the only path toward achieving the “Nigeria of our dreams.”
Encouraging a spirit of togetherness, he said: “I appeal to all Nigerians, regardless of religious affiliation or ethnic background, to embrace peace and unity. Our diversity is our greatest asset, and it is only through mutual respect and collective harmony that we can build a prosperous nation.”
Hon. Omirin specifically lauded the people of Ijeshaland for their industry and resilience, urging them to remain beacons of peace within Osun State. He described the holiday period as a strategic time for “healing and reconciliation” among neighbors.
*”Let this Christmas be a period of healing and reconciliation. Let us extend a hand of fellowship to our neighbors and be the light that dispels the shadows of division,” the lawmaker added. “As Ijesha people, known for our resilience and industry, let us continue to lead by example in fostering communal peace and supporting one another.”
Looking ahead to the coming year, Hon. Omirin reaffirmed his dedication to providing quality representation at the National Assembly. He assured the people of Atakunmosa and Ilesa that their welfare and empowerment remain his top legislative priorities.
He concluded by wishing his constituents a celebration filled with “laughter and hope,” praying for a prosperous transition into the New Year for all Nigerians.
