From the Pitch to the Playlist: Alex Iwobi Set to Drop Debut EP “More To Life”

Super Eagles playmaker and Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi is proving there is more to his repertoire than slick through-balls and tireless running. The Nigerian international has officially announced his foray into the music industry, with his debut extended play (EP), titled “More To Life,” scheduled to hit streaming platforms on April 9.

Iwobi took to Instagram to break the news, unveiling the project’s cover art and a robust nine-track list that suggests this is far from a casual hobby. The project is a blend of collaborative energy and individual expression, featuring guest appearances from artists such as 24am, Teniola Time, Gidi, Fido, and SPKS. Notably, two of the tracks will see Iwobi perform solo, signaling his “growing confidence as a recording artiste” as he steps out from behind the shadow of established hitmakers to hold his own on the mic.

While a debut EP is a major milestone, Iwobi is not entirely new to the studio environment. Nearing his 100th cap for Nigeria, Iwobi was shown a straight red card for misconduct during a tense 2-2 draw against Jordan on Tuesday. It was a rare moment of indiscretion for the versatile midfielder, who must now pivot back to club duties.

As he prepares for the April 9 release of “More To Life,” Iwobi has returned to England to join a Fulham side currently perched in ninth position. His immediate challenge? Trading the recording booth for the cauldron of Anfield, where Fulham travels to face Liverpool this Saturday.
