The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has finalised arrangements to establish a School of Communication in Lagos State through a partnership with the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE).

The project is scheduled to be formally launched at a groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday, February 5, 2026. The event is expected to attract top personalities from academia, officials of the National Universities Commission, representatives of FUOYE, and other key stakeholders.

Sources familiar with the development disclosed that FUOYE will run a distance learning programme for students of the proposed School of Communication. Upon completion of their studies, graduates will be awarded certificates that are globally recognised, reinforcing the academic credibility of the institution.

Explaining the motivation behind the initiative, Primate Ayodele said his passion for communication inspired the project, noting that he has long desired to make a meaningful contribution to the field.

He revealed that he once studied mass communication at a reputable Nigerian institution due to his deep interest in the profession, but could not practise actively because of the demands of his ministry.

According to him, the establishment of the school and the collaboration with FUOYE represent the fulfilment of a long-held dream and an avenue to support others who aspire to build careers in communication-related disciplines.

“I have always loved communication, this is why I love to associate with journalists too. It has always been my dream to contribute to communication studies in Nigeria, and this establishment is one of those ways God has led me to do it.

“I was once a communication student, and I enjoyed it; however, I wasn’t able to practice because of my ministry, but my love for it has never diminished for once.

“Establishing a communication school is a dream come true, and I appreciate FUOYE for partnering with me on this movement. This is a huge opportunity for those who may be interested in achieving their dreams.”

Primate Ayodele further disclosed that the Lagos school is only the beginning, adding that there are plans to set up similar institutions beyond Nigeria, including in Ghana, the Benin Republic, and other countries.
